Sadly i can only give you 1 like.
His selfish comments deserve a suspension, what an ass he made himself with these..he is almost self-absorbed in Trumpian levels.

I hope you realize this is as bad as Alonso's take on yesterday's red flag.

So, can we now say the RBR era of dominance has finally ended after a whopping 2 years?

Although I chuckled about your characterization of Alonso, (I think it cuts close to the bone), I think drivers should be able to finish a lap when the crash is behind them on the track.

Yeah and then the drivers behind him? It's a one for all all for one situation. Can't cherry pick just for Alonso

I don’t know… I was not talking about Alonso, I was talking about drivers being in front of an accident. I have no idea how that could be organized.

Surely not, I was told nobody could catch up in this cost cap era.

Interesting thing to admit....if its true.

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella is surprised over how a brake drum hole “escalated” to become a major Formula 1 paddock talking point, after Red Bull allegedly raised the alarm.

- #AMuS reported that Red Bull had spotted a brake drum hole on the McLaren MCL38 which needs to be covered after practice to comply with the regulations, but McLaren and another team had not re-covered them at recent races.
- The holes were said to have been re-covered by tape at the Austria and British rounds, with Stella confirming to Sky F1 that McLaren turned to that tactic.
- Stella validated talk that the FIA had been in touch to clarify that the holes needed covering, with Red Bull reportedly having alerted the governing body, fearing an extra cooling mechanism was being created against the regulations.
He said, “Actually, this matter is very simple. This is a hole to access a sensor and we got the clarification from the FIA that this hole is not allowed and we just taped it. It’s a very, very simple matter which for some reason seems to have escalated to become a topic in the paddock. But nothing of that kind.”

Although I chuckled about your characterization of Alonso, (I think it cuts close to the bone), I think drivers should be able to finish a lap when the crash is behind them on the track.

Which means they would then, instead of heading straight to the pit lane, need to do another lap and drive next to the accident place one more time, delaying the time when marshalls and the medical crew can start working uninterrupted. I really don't think drivers being able to finish their laps should have a priority over this. The accident may be serious.

And it's not any more fair sporting wise either. Some drivers will get to finish their laps while others won't based totally on luck in terms of where they are on track. It's equally unfair as preventing anyone to finish their lap IMO. There will always be an equal number winners and losers in each case, it's unavoidable.

Just a typical “driver I don’t like says something bad so needs to be crucified” type of comment.

I’ve not seen Alonso’s interview and I don’t understand Spanish anyway so I don’t know the context and actual words spoken regarding the red flag.

I had thought he was not happy with the messy situation when he drove into the pit lane after the red flag.

There is a video here ( warning: rear-cam  :D )

He and Stroll were put into parc ferme by the FIA officials. Alonso had already unbuckled his seat belt and removed his steering wheel but then the FIA officials told him to go and waved them off. It looked quite chaotic. It was a good thing he remembered to get his mechanics to fasten his seat belts before driving off, otherwise he might have been penalized by FIA for driving without seatbelts!

This is a completely black and white situation. If the medical warning light goes off for a crash, it's an instant red flag. Let the medical car race to the scene of the accident without having to worry about anything else.

That’s really good. Takes decisions making time from race control. Obviously they can still red flag in other situations, but it’s a good system.
