It makes sense since the tie-up with LVMH, but I hadn't even thought about the return of Moet champagne to the podium
As far as I’m concerned, they’ve always supplied the champagne. Anyone telling you otherwise is a corporate shill.

Well done Lando tho. Nerves of steel to take that win! Gutted for Oscar, super unlucky going off on that angle he did when him and Lando went off. Should have been a 1-2 for McLaren.

Pretty sure Oscar said "**** it, I've got nothing to lose anyway" and sent it round Hamilton at T9. Not quite sure he would've made that attempt with a calm mind...

Antonelli is really good. Already matured in racecraft. Debut race in treacherous conditions and he responded so well. Merc did right to put him in F1 so early.

From what I saw this weekend, I will go out on a limb and say Hamilton will beat Leclerc. Hamilton seemed to have more race pace and he has better race craft. I also think Hamilton's qualifying will get a lot better. If overtaking wasn't so difficult in Australia, Hamilton would have run down Leclerc and Russell. In my opinion, Russell had a sad race pace.

All the hangers on wanting to shake Lando’s hand.

Not very surprising to see Verstappen and Red Bull in second either, as the top two teams are somewhat in a league of their own.
Good day for Mercedes. Deserved podium for Russell, and a very impressive haul of points for Antonelli. Well done to him when so many others fell off.
Albon has surprised me. Hugely. Good job!
Stroll… hmm. Not bad.
Hülkenberg has had a bad weekend performance wise, but seventh is a great result.
Ferrari…. Oooof. Not a good weekend any way you look at it. I think Hamilton has done well though, all things considered.

Pretty quiet race from Russell but I think he’s going to be a factor this year, consistently.

Now that was a race and a half! Well done Norris to keep it together with Verstappen hot on his tail.
Impressive first showing by Antonelli.

Credit where credit is due - Norris delivered every restart. Even against Max.
Gutted for Piastri and the Ferrari clusterf***. Antonelli though! Am becoming very impressed by his racers attitude and raw racecraft. Phenomenal.
Albon was fantastic and I have to say that Stroll is actually quite good in conditions like these. Rookies man... oof.
Next week - another Grand Prix. Hyped.

I'm not sure I feel we were watching the same race, but I can't see how that is obvious, they both struggled with being stuck behind others at times, especially Hamilton behind Albon in the first half.
Then at the end it was Leclerc who came off better in the race craft front.

Put the car where it strictly didn't belong I think
No, Piastri should be there of coruse but he was miles ahead of Russell and the ferrari-s behind him on race pace. So i think today redbull was the second fastest car. But that can also be the conditions of course.

This is why Australia deserves it's spot as the season opener.
Amazing race apart from the shoddy F1 live timing.
