I wouldn't give Marko the "found Verstappen" either. There had been talks with other teams and junior teams before that as well.

But Marko was the one who gave him an F1 drive when others wouldn't. Which as I said, is "relevant in reply to posts denouncing Marko's competence."

Red Bull runs an entire b-team for their junior drivers, this alone likely costs as much as all other junior programs combined. In this view, it is rather embarrassing that they couldn’t field two competitive drivers in the main team since 7 seasons now, and that they had to resort to outsiders like Perez.

And Marko has clearly made his time.

IMO, Marko needs a good ol' slap to restore factory settings.

He's shown nothing but lack of respect while demonstrating toxicity towards junior drivers.

Are the budgets publicly available? Would be useful to include, if you're trying to make a point.

I doubt if budgets are available, but I would think, judging by the armadas of Red Bull liveried cars in the junior series, that it would be reasonable to conclude that RB is spending far more than any of the others on junor driver programmes.  And then there is the slave F1 team to count in as well.

Vettel was a Red Bull Junior since Formula BMW. Counting Verstappen is more controversial, but Marko took him on for his second year of racing. The fact that he put him straight into F1 rather than GP2 is surely a credit to Helmut's judgement rather than a criticism of it. And I was responding to the statement that Marko hadn't produced more than two champions in 23 years. Well, that's pretty tricky if Red Bull drivers have taken eight of the twenty three championships.

And I would count anyone who made F1 as a success for the programme, plus those who established other international careers.

Verstappen didn't want to drive in GP2 that was on offer from Mercedes, the F1 seat is what made him sign for Red Bull.

No other team had a junior F1 team.

Whereas Red Bull did. To whose credit is that? Whose idea was it? Who oversees its choice of drivers?

I don't know apart from the fact that the late DM (spelling) paid for it all, it gave Marko a better option to secure Verstappen's services that was offered by Mercedes.

Great response from the young man, absolutely nailed it. He may well have something this kid, there's a bit of edge to him.

Kudos to mr. Hamilton. I am into racing for decades and many a time I have seen a driver after a failure. It is soo difficult to find right words in that situation. I don't know what Anthony was saying, but I assume it was something much more appropriate than simple 'don't worry it will be

alright'.

It is soo difficult to find right words in such situation.
