If it makes you feel better. I don’t think autosport.com actually use this for feedback.

Aye. I'm just doing a wee vent.

English humor, Jim.

No, Monty Python, The Two Ronnies, Black Adder, I could go on and on...that's British humour (spelled correctly ), and it is outstanding.
This is just someone being a d---, as usual. Where were the emojis, or a jk?
Besides, proper American English would have it spelled Race Center. Two words.

George Bernard Shaw said we were two nations separated by a common language. I think you're kind of proving that, Jim.

When the company I used to work for was taken over by an American-based organisation, everyone was told that they had to use American spelling from that point on (documentation, web pages, all published material, etc.)

Interestingly, there was a UK company that traded for many years as Plumb Center, with some other offshoots also using the US spelling. But it has been rebranded as Wolseley and now has Plumb Centre etc.. And just yesterday, I saw a hand car wash in deepest Berkshire with a large sign proclaiming it the "Car Wash Center". Needless to say, I drove on despite the dusty nature of my car.

Shaw was of course Irish.

This thread reminded me of this.

Shaw was of course Irish.
You can surmise I was not talking about Shaw then.

With all due respect, Richard, I am not.
If it truly was not intended as such, where is the denial, even in its usual condescending or sneering manner that I am used to? (along the lines of "you just don't get it" or "someone removed your sense of humour")
When I'm misunderstood, I make a point of letting the affected person know what I meant.

Alternate spellings, i.e. different systems of orthography.
”centre” is the spelling derived from the borrowing of the word from French.
”center” is the spelling generated by the Websterian system aka known as “the American” [sic] spelling (which is somewhat more, but not entirely attuned to pronunciation, although in this case it is).
