We have seen the new guidelines in play a few times now and personally I think they will need to be revised again. Push out or being pushed out will probably be standard for T1 and for most overtakes, simply because the rules say you can do it and since that is the best way of securing a position, that is what they will do. This is, I believe, problematic because it will change some fundamental racing etiquette, swipe away all remnants of "sporting behaviour", and this will of course spread quickly to junior and feeder series. At the time of writing, there has been no decision regarding the Lawson/Alonso incident, but that is an interesting one and a situation that I think we will see many times; a driver on the inside drives as deep as possible but, as it turns out, not deep enough. Not deep enough to own the corner but to deep to give space.
I think the guidelines encourage ruthlessness and the victims will be close racing and fairness.
We will see.

The new guidelines for overtaking

Too early for me tbh.
The anti Max rules have burned a few so far, I hated the way Max drove it just wan't fare but 'legal' in 2024.But listening to Kimi & Fernado it's clear they're expcting racing room but it's no longer required to be given by the overtaking driver, clearly something need to be communicated.
TBH Kimi, didn't deserve racing room, he'd lost the corner and should have slotted in behind Oscar

My opinion on this subject is F1 are up their arse and don't know what they're doing. I really don't get it.

Kimi lost the corner and would not have make it at that speed regardless of whether Oscar was there or was not. Just lack of experience in my view and nothing more. Judges was quick and right on that one.

What happened at T1 today is exactly the kind of racing I hate.
It is Fuji 2007 level dumb. This style of racing became normalised after that race sadly.

As I see it:
1. Overtaking on the inside: Front axle ahead of the other car's mirror line on entry => Your corner, no need to leave space
2. Overtaking on the outside: Be ahead at entry (and apex?) => Your corner, must be given space.
So today, in Miami, Max will need to be around 1(?) meter ahead of Lando at turn in point in order to have the right to any space. Same goes for Antonelli in his battle with Piastri.
The problem, and the strength, as I see it, is the lack of nuances in these guidelines. Norris will brake as late as possible in order to win the corner. He will also be on the inside, which means that he will have a later turn-in that Max. Same goes for Piastri behind and it will force both Max and Kimi to make an early decision to slot in behind. And same goes for all "couples" behind them which means the car on the inside will almost always go deep and the one on the outside, had it been forced to yield, will now be in the tracks a new bomber.
Had the pole been on the inside, the pole sitter would only need to stay abreast to own the corner, something that is much easier to do, especially considering that the later turn in point allows for later braking.
Maybe I have interpreted the guidelines wrong, but I look forward to an interesting T1 now when all drivers knows what the rules are.

Which bit are you unhappy with?
Two incidents, one was minor with Piastri taking control of 1st corner, other was major with Lawson turning into Alonso after going off.
I think we seen in the last couple of years how bad the decisions were allowing drivers to run off track in driver to driver battles with no penalty, the favouring of the driver on the inside is the lesser evil in my opinion, the driver that makes the corner should generally be favoured.
Sadly some drivers just refuse to yield which would allow them to live another day, instead willing to collide if it means they dont lose that battle, or trying to hang on to a poor position on the track losing extra places.
To me turn 1 was no issue, fair racing, Lawson incident should have been Lawson penalty.

Which bit are you unhappy with?
I guess my main concern is that I believe it will encourage dive-bombing and all but eliminate wheel-to-wheel racing.
