It's gonna be interestig to see how fast Rossi will be in an ECR prepared entry, given their known `knowing something about` the Speedway reputation.

And as a by product of that: if Veekay is able to transform some of that knowledge he gained with/about that `ECR knowledge` inthe past years onto the Dale Coyne entry he is in.

Newgarden three-peat

The one who came closest so far was Al Unser, Sr. (winner 1970, 1971, runner-up behind Mark Donohue in 1972) : Al Unser Sr. - IMS Museum

Helio was runner up in 2003 to DeFerran, matching Big Al's feat.

I thought  let's leave the Penske  matching feat to my Buddy B2 to mention, then I'll do the "LoneStar One" if he forgets that one...    :)

Thanks Henri, with the way the 2002 race played out the official record is controversy itself.

Thanks Henri, with the way the 2002 race played out the official record is controversy itself.

I think that it is fair to say that of the three drivers with this particular record behind their names only Al is undisputed.

Johnny 's is at least undisputed resultswise but the circumstances how two of the races ended give some controversy if the stat is genuinly valid for him.

hey JP,

Lets go a bit less classic but more modern?

Howard Carpendale - Indianapolis (1969)

or even more modern???

Menudo - Indianapolis (1984)      (this one thanks to Mike Thomsen and "Beyond the Bricks")

Indianapolis 500 season begins, Indiana Pacers putting the finishing touches on Cleveland, Indiana Fever season starts on Friday, petition to make this thread an all-Indianapolis sports love-in?

Oh my my..That Menudo version is an abomination

Now here is a REAL gift for you all.

Donald Fagen introduced me to Jean Shepherd and his WOR radio show.

He told me to search for his rhapsody on Indianapolis.

So,

When we get a rain delay....

I IMPLORE you to give this classic interpretation of the traditions at the Indianapolis 500 a listen.

or start with the 500 segment only...

https://youtu.be/23b...1q7poGPEX&t=564

And Now.....

It's time for Practice 1

Enjoy,

Jp
