Ivan, yes I find that the rally races aren't to difficult but they are sure fun and you can really screw them up on occasion.

You can buy it or complete the rally section. I now have two of them.

forgot to add:
How many cars does everyone have? I have over 70.
I'm going to complete the Beginner section to night. I just need three or so races. Then I will have three sections done.
Endurance and Rally are the others.
Is anyone else going for 100%races/100%wins. I'm going for it. I'm at 270+ race wins at the moment.

Damn Addictive, I've been playing for about 3 hours a day for two weeks, I can't stop. I was thinking about taking a vacation day to play. Maybe a week. Hell I'll just sell my car and take a month off. I don't answer my phone anymore. I don't think my wife has left me yet; although I haven't seen her in a week. Maybe I'll skip dinner tonight, yeah skip dinner and get an extra 45 minutes of playing time. Maybe I change my sleep pattern....sleep and hour, play for two hours, sleep an hour, play for two hours.....I'm sorry was I rambling?:drunk:

attention to detail:
In rally mode the people actually move. I noticed this after watching a replay. They jump up and down.
In another replay racing the 787B. The camera angle was right on the nose facing the car. As the wind hit the car the windsheild wiper moved left and right. At first I thought I imagined it, so I watched for it again and it was really there.

First thing i notice when i look on the back of the case. It has a picture of Glen Setons Ford Falcon touring car. Its unlikely you would get this overseas.

Perhaps this is why it was delayed over here. They had to add more cars in for us. sux being outside Australia for you lot :D

While playing GT3 I tried also Gran Turismo 2 too.

How can I play GT2 Gran Turismo mode on PS2?
It look like GT2 doesn't allow me to use PS2 memorycard?
And correct me if I am wrong but I think PS1 memorycard don't fit into PS2?

Tip for GT4 programmers:
Gimme back used cars market and more cars with massive damage!
And dashboards would be nice too!

The Kanisteri,

The old memory cards do fit into the PS2 and you have to use them to play games made for the PS1.

I still play F1 Championship 97 and have to switch to the old memory card all the time.:)

daz,
Once you get enough turbo, go to I think the amature league and run the test course 15 and/or 30k that will help you get a better car. The Miata is actually fast once you set it up right.

Kiitoksia Jerry Lee!

But GT2 looks pretty "crabby" and frame rate is pretty poor with PS2. (Is that such slow with PS1 too? Feels like driving on drunk!)
Any tip to get game running faster and more beautifull?
I have tried taht PS2's internal smoothersystem already and theres no difference.

I quess I have got to used too good with GT3...? :D

(GT3) Tip for easy money for begingers:

Get Toyota Corolla GT (Sprinter Trueno GT Apex)
Tune up engine, suspension and transmission.(turbos are surplus)
Forget brakes, tyres, weight reducing etc.

Shrink ride height at minimum, adjust gearbox to highspeed and high torgue at 5th and 6th gear. (6th littlebit longer so it wont take "stall")

Change oil and hit the road. Choose latest option on begingers level. GT World Championship and Super Speedway Circuit. Forget any qualification.

At start don't worry if those GT cars will runaway. Keep good drivingline and drive such fast as bossible. Take first curve on 5th gear and keep speed 215 kph. Speed up to last corner and after last blue commercial flag hit brakes and gears down 4th and with high revs speed at 180 kph get half way to curve as in you can get.
Then speed up to finish line.

Easy. 4 laps and 10 000 credits. And remember slipstreaming is weapon to overtake those GT cars.

Aww, I just did the GT Champ thinking an F1 car was at the end of it, it wasn't :( sucks hehe.. misunderstood someones post.

Big thanks to iago, your guide to get going is very very good and i'm still following it.

 Oh, you're too kind...

Anyways, I now have my beloved Suzuki 1800HP monster but I have to say I prefer the F1 car to it as it corners like nothing on earth and the brakes are da bomb [I sometimes brake too hard, too early and have to get back on the power a bit].

I got my F1 car from completing the Super Speedway endurance race in my GT3000 (with turbo level 4 and all the bits). What it lacks in top speed and HP (only about 780), it more than makes up in other areas.

Hmmm, I've not played GT3 for a while now. Time to have another go at it... (withdrawal symptoms).

Damn this game, im so addicted to it. I got it on Friday and played it all over the weekend. I really want a formula one car, basically now I've nearly finished all beginner except for those audi races etc. I've done heaps of amanter to and have heaps of cars.

At the moment, my best car is a STi WRX. It has nearly everything done to it and handles so well, so ill keep it.

What are your favorite things about GT3?

Mine are:
A: The most realistic "car wash" simulator in any game, ever!

B: Being able to watch a 20 lap replay of a race @ the test course.

C: The incredibly detailed pit animation.

Seriously, I think you should be able to select a diff. tire compound when you pit.

The ability to win F1 cars .. if you don't have an S License you cant compete in the leagues that give F1 cars as prizes.

Unless i'm wrong? But i'm pretty sure the S-License opens up the top end of the game.

You can win F1 cars without the S licence. I have only had the game for a couple of days, but I won an F1 car by completing the Superspeedway endurance race...100 laps.....200,000 prizemoney....the F1 car is pretty wicked....

The car to get is a Suzuki Escudo (by winning all the Rally section) and then beef it up to over 1800hp. Then you can do consistent 28 second laps on the SuperSpeedway. This 100 lap race takes only 50 minutes or a bit less (depending upon how many times you get spun around hitting the turn 3 wall) in the beefed up Escudo. This is much better than the 1hour 5-10minutes that it took me in my 1000hp+ Dodge Viper.

Tried that, my car just cant handle the corners, i slide into the wall and if i slow down enough, i get passed. I figured I could take each of the corners by banging against the wall, but what way is that to win an F1 car? So i dumped the race after 50 laps.

Any tips? im on super soft tyres. I'm hitting 300km/h before each corner.

What kind of car are you using? Just brake before the corners, slide around, keeping it tight to the inside, then power out along the straights. Lower the downforce on your car, and set your gears so that you're just about to limit out at the end of the straight.

Is there a good car I should look at buying for ovals?

This car should allow you to do it, after all, I did it in the EVO VII, so should be easy in the GT3000. By the way, the 1800hp Escudo might do 28 second laps, but I can run 26 second laps in the 790 horsepower F1 car........

But anyway, sounds like you've got the hp, just can't get the consistent speed. Maybe try a Viper, or an STi or an EVO?

i have an STi, only goes upto 535hp with all the turbos but then it doesnt handle well at all. i left it at 495hp, with a stage 2 turbo

Well the problem is.. I can blow the other cars away on the straight, I really pull away from them.. however, I really struggle in the corners, the first few corners are ok but once I get going, I really struggle. I will enter the corner, break, often smoking the tyres badly, and I just cant take the corner with any flow at all, if I put any power down I slide out into the wall. My car just understeers too much.. maybe because I'm hitting 300km/h just as I enter each corner. I still can't alter my wings, I don't get that. I've bought I think every part without the "----" dashes under it.

It's damn annoying.. each corner just becomes a struggle and it mounts up to 40 second laps. Question: Do any of you guys think this could be tyre related? I've selected Super Soft tyres, but do you need to replace tyres often? IE.. buy a new set from that shop that cleans the oil/car ? Or is tyre wear over more than one race not covered in this game? Sorry to go on about this, but it's frustrating me :)

update : hmm... i tried the middle tyre between super soft and hard, and the tyres are not yet red.. with super soft that i was previously using in endurance, they got red real quick.. could that be why I was so bad on the corners? is the super soft not the best tyre to go for? *confused* hehe.. they should have provided a better manual.

Pry,
I'm not sure what is happening to you.
My Escudo is ramped to 1800hp and I don't have any issues. What is your brake balance? Mine is 24f/9r on all my cars. Everything stops on a dime. Also try throwing on more down force if you still have stopping problems. Lower the car as much as you are comfortable with, this will help too. I don't use super soft tires that often, I stay with the medium ones. You can run them fire red before you have to change them. And the big question is - Where do you start braking from? I use the 100 metre boards but, for my 1000+ hp cars I use the 200 and modify it from there. You can always tell if you are braking to soon. If you brake to late that is understeer city. Hope that helps.

I'm up to over 66 percent complete. All that is left for me is about 59 races in the Pro League. I think I'll be finished with the sim part of this game in about two weeks or less. Then I'll do the arcade part
