The Maserati engined car appears to be the T80, intendedfor the flat-16 climax and fitted with a Maserati V12 for early engine testing.

Might it be a Maserati Ghibli? Jonathan Sieff's Chipstead Motor Group was a Maserati dealer as well as owner of Cooper by then.
The Ghibli started in 1967 and besides, had a full width rear window.
After enlarging that corner of the photo, I am almost convinced that it is a Ferrari 275 GTB, although some kind of Alfa Romeo is also possible, maybe?
When I enlarged the photo, I also noticed a DAF Daffodil, behind that Mini there. And this raises the question why it would be there?

Henk, Alfa, very possible, looks to me to be an Alfa Giulietta Sprint Speciale.

There are hints of 275GTB (definitely not a Ghibli) but something about the rear isn't quiet right to my blurry old eyes . The teardrop shape cabin is making me think Lamborghini 350GTV .

Coming to this a bit late in the process, but the car top right reminds me of the rear end of the Alfa Giulia SS model which had a very squared off vertical rear panel, akin to the Elite, and the tapered rear screen , inwards tapering rear wing portions, and bumper/corner fittings suggest that too, to these weary old eyes. The rear view may be distorted if the front end of the car is jacked up for work to be done.
Probably wrong…

Now here's a thing...
Apologies if this info is already known but I visited the Practical Classics Restoration Show at the NEC on Friday (the show finished today - Sunday) and was pleasantly surprised to find a car with direct connections to Grand Prix. This Lotus 20 Formula Junior was on the RH Specialist Insurance stand with the display panel describing it as a Lotus "Eagle". Originally part of the fleet run by the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School, several school cars were modified to resemble contemporary F1 cars as described elsewhere in this thread. This one having a distinctly Eagle style nose.
The display panel accompanying the car describes the owner as a Mr Lane who discovered the car in its present state and purchased it about two years ago. Is the history and circumstances of this car known to the Forum. Didn't have time on Friday to search for a chassis number!
Just thought you should know...

It's looking both over-tired and over-tyred!

Is the hay to prove it a genuine barn find ?

It's Neville.

i recall it being advertised in Motoring News in 1975. I had thought the ad said it was a Lotus 22 but after nearly half a century, I'm prepared to accept I got that wrong...

A bird nest too (left of the steering wheel). The Restoration show had a whole section of barn find cars so this Lotus was in good (decrepit?) company.
The names from its latter career that appear on the sides are Brian Higgs and Colin Joshua. Any ideas? Also, are there any stills of this "Eagle" from the film?

The 'blade' on the front suggests it was last used in speed events (sprints or hillclimbs).

That explains the hay!

Wow! I looked at the Monza sequence yesterday and the "Eagle" is featured in that. Next to Sarti at one point. Apparently, the owner (Mr Lane) is keen to restore the car to film specification. Again, not sure if he's been in touch with this Forum but it would make a great story to follow.

I was looking at the Spa sequence on YouTube some time back, and it appears there was an ersatz #27 "Eagle" with the dual exhausts as seen in the picture with Francoise Hardy in post #1872, which is presumably the same car. In addition, there were brief glimpses of the real #27 Eagle-Climax 4-cyl. driven by Dan Gurney in its maiden race (Spa'66) with the single exhaust seen on the real Climax-engine car. I was surprised that they went to the trouble of building a film car replica that was so visually different from the real car, but such continuity problems are seen in most auto racing films.
Edit: the Spa clip below shows the fake #27 Eagle with dual exhausts at 1:02, while John Surtees passes Dan Gurney in the real #27 Eagle-Climax (single exhaust) at 6:14.
Perhaps the car shown at 1:02 is the same as the one above?

Very sad news indeed. It was reported that she had been battling cancer for some 20 years. R.I.P. Francoise Hardy.

Of the actors In Grand Prix, only Sarti's wife (Genevieve Page) and Sarti's mistress (Eva Marie Saint) still living. Of the drivers who took part (according to Wikipedia) - all gone. I believe Jackie Stewart did double for Brian Bedford but didn't get credit because he was contracted to Steve McQueen's project.

Saw an interview of Françoise today which I had never seen ( but to which I am incapable of supplying a link to ...) . One of the questions by the interviewer was : "You appear in the film Grand Prix which recently came out, but you are not seen very much and you hardly do any acting at all, why was it that you accepted the role ? " And Françoise with a huge smile : " Because it was very well paid" .

As good a reason as any. For not much acting she was certainly one of the most memorable characters - being an absolute "hottie" doesn't hurt though......
