Good afternoon gentlemen. Firstly, my apologies about the car choice. There was obviously some confusion. Let me clarify things by saying that this weeks car has been decided, by what was a very close vote. The car fro Round4 will be decided this week. I have already sent the PM'sout regarding these, so we will e back to a week in front situation.

The car for Round 3, is The Lotus Elise 190

The vote was very close, as I said, but the Lotus narrowly beat out the other two contenders.

The exciting thing is that the Gods have graced us with a fantastic track to match this super car.

Monaco

Now I know it's not called Monaco, but Goddamn it, his mamma named him Clay, Ima call him Clay.

Times are due in by:
12pm(noon)GMT
see here for a list showing the cut-off time in your country.

So Monaco in the Lotus Elise 190!!

Good luck gentlemen!!

Just as a matter of interest, what were the final counts in the voting :)

By the way, a big thumps  on the car and track :)

Looks like I bought and tested it just in time ;)

Have the rules changed regarding tuning it, or are you just picking cars that dont tune up to >700bhp anymore ?

s'just that I have this thing up at around 281ish bhp and was wondering if that's still OK :)

... for starters.

The game seems not to be as it was in the early days of AtlasF1 GT3 Championship. Now rich brats are buying set ups and poor privateers can't afford any...

1.37'950

after 20 laps. As in the previous round it takes me a complete session to get within 3.5 seconds of Chrissy Boy's warm-up lap.

Based on the inital times posted in the previous rounds I guess that the best times are going to be < 1'32'000 and a point scoring time is going to be < 1'35.000

I'm on 283bhp so far.

Is there any way to do this track in arcade free run? :drunk:
I'm having to do my time in qualifying for one of the races and
it's hard sometimes because I find other cars on the track.

You have to unlock the track in ARCADE mode to be able to drive FREE RUN, this should not be a problem.

Time 1:34.099

Could you be a little more specific Chrissy Boy?
Which mode do I have to do, single race or time attack? and which track. Please help me, because
I'm sure I would do a better time if I can unlock the track.

You have to win all of the races in single race mode on every single difficulty to unlock all of the tracks.

Actually you only have to win all of the races in *hard* mode to unlock all the tracks. The easy but boring way is to use an F1 on road / Suzuki Escudo for Rally.

You have to unlock 2 or 3 sets of tracks before getting Monaco / Cote d'Azur if I remember correctly.

So far, I've done 1.37, eightysomething. The setup is all right, but my driving is sometimes really good, sometimes really bad. But the good thing is that i know where to improve.

The force... oh, yes, the force-feedback. No setup changes yet but using the wheel, not the pad:

1'38.758

Maybe there's still hope yet. I need to find me a setup. :)

Update: After some advice from master Yoda  laptimes are looking a wee bit more respectable:

1'36.700 :)

I still don't feel as one with the car, overdriving it constantly. Damn it, I've played GT3 a lot but since you don't really need to drive perfectly to win the races I've still got a lot of practice to do.

Update 2: That's it for tonight. New time:

1'35.728

You can trade set-ups with whoever you like, as long as they're willing of course;)
They may not want to if it compromises their team goals of course...and, as I have said, team orders are completely legal in the championship:D

My problem is tieing all sectors togetrher. There's 0,5 secs in the first sector to gain.

Other problem is that I'm consintantly inconsistent.

Superbar!

You can try to set all the LSD settings except LSD Decrease to MAX, and TSC to 0!

Little more nervous, but greater speed out of corners if you are a little bit carefull with the throttle.

Chrissy Boy:

I already have ASM and TSC set at zero. I always drive without when I use the FF wheel, it's more fun that way. :) Careful with throttle? Me? Nah.... but that's not my problem. My problem is turn in. I tend to brake too late and get the car all out off shape through the corner, missing the apex. :

Yeah, I spent all of my spare time last night unlocking tracks - nearly finished.
It really brought home how good the F1 car is, obliterated my best time at laguna in the 3000GT - from a standing start. :)
Hope to get a lap in this evening...

The F1 car at a standing start will wallop any rolling start lap from ANY other car on every track barring the Super Speedway and the test track :) and on those 2 it is nowhere near the best car :)

Yes with turbo, but I just did like 10 laps in qualifying so I'm working now in getting
the track unlock in arcade.
As for the bhp I just need more laps to get more power. :p

Last night i did 1.35.595. and there still a lot to improve.
But the car is realy sweet, and i just need a little bit more stoping power.
The main thing in my set up:

1. Sustained power through that steep climb, achieved with a long first gear, and then 2nd close to 3rd, close to 4th and close to 5th. The 6th gear must be optimized to not run out before the end of the tunnel straight.
2. Predictable sliding, thanks to very low bars sets.
3. A nice look will help. Mine is British Green with yellow wheels, like a Lotus 49.

Best regards

Polar

I just can't handle the pressure.

Just after I realised I was getting the perfect lap (- 1,8 secs before the Grand Hotel hair pin) my heart started to beat relly hard, I started to calculate the total lap time (well under 1'34), my eyes blurred and I messed the whole thing spinning. Annoying  !
