I also think kart tracks are the best.
I am going to have a go at Sandown so don't do that unless you really want to.
By the way, this game really does rock and is so adictive. Many thanks for it. Can we have a man waving the chequer flag at the end?

Banked Oval
beware: this track was done pretty quickly and it's not nearly as refined as the other tracks I've seen here. Maybe I'll fix all the little details later and post an updated version.

I've made it wider than Melbourne, hopefully, so racing is possible but the overally layout is accurate.
Enjoy! http://rocksgr.cjb.net

I used to play Star Raiders on my old Atari 800 and I have never been able to play something that fun again. GeneRally ? It ****ing frustrates me ! I am somehow unable to figure out when to use right and left... but that is only me being clumsy, the game is excellent !!!

The AI, as you can imagine, took ages but now they don't crash and laptimes are aroud 20s.

Like I said... A disgarce.
No, they were my first attempts at creating tracks.
I'm having more fun now that I've got the Import Land thingy figure out and what not.

I found this track on the GeneRally track page, it's brilliant in its apparent ease of driving and it's obvious beauty ...don't let the fact that it's a superspeedway oval dissuade you from racing on it. It's mega fun, even though you dont' have to lift at all driving the Formula car on it but I would recommend racing the McTurbos on the track, it's quite challenging with that particular car.

Suzuka is the best of that lot!
The other 2 I think I could guess at being Montreal & Mugello...but Suzuka??? To be fair, based on my efforts I doubt I could do better..but then I wouldn't be stupid enough to post them here to be mocked

If I'm not mistaken, the GeneRally site has 300+ tracks.

*like impossible to reach pits, no starting grid, reversed starting grid, bad AI, pit crews turning the wrong way around, badly placed checkpoints, pits where you have to drive through every pit crew, and therefore any cars currently pitting, tracks where you don't know which way to drive unless you follow the AI... the list is endless. Lots of people don't know how to make tracks, but still try and release them without even testing them (apparently) and then ask you to think of all the 'hard work they've put into it'. Sheesh.

And I would like to ask one question - I've seen the demo pictures here with several cars racing on the track. But I only can drive my car alone as "testing" mode, how can I change to "competiton" mode ? Thanks a lot !

I will donate the programming (and web host space) of a page that can be maintained by someone other than me of a db-driven site that keeps track of track titles, authors and links to the track at it's downloadable location.
I think this would probably be best. Have someone (or some people) who plays the game frequently commit to testing tracks before they are mentioned on the site page.

I'd post a screen shot, but unfortunately I am too lazy to get any imaging software on this PC.
Maybe later on tonight I'll edit this post, and one then. I do think you'll have fun on this track.

SB, you need to create more drivers (just as you created yourself, however make sure you create "computer" racers) then add them to the race.

Is it just me or the computer simulated cars are stronger, when colliding?
It feels that I get airborne and pushed out so easily whereas its really difficult to push them out.
THE COMPUTER IS CHEATING!!!!

[B]Well, with so many utter crap tracks out there*, maybe a Quality Track site could be started. Every track submitted would undergo rigorous tests, based on a set standard that would be followed to the letter, no exceptions. Too much work for me, but I could see a site like that being useful.
Myself and a few other people started a site which collects quality tracks as you two mentioned (check the GR CART2002 season for the level of quality I am looking for). But as you also mentioned, having the free time is the problem.. so I haven't been able to make or even screen the F1 tracks that are available out there.
Soo, if any of you make quality F1 tracks and/or run across any, let me know please so I can put them up ...and play with'em .

Hmm.. in fact I'll work on putting up the F1 page later this week since I already have about 3 or 4 tracks I've test driven that made the grade.
