Jim Hall ran an IndyCar team around the 1994-1996 time frame. I think his major sponsor was Pennzoil but I do believe that he did not use the name Chaparral. Any thoughts as to why he did not employ the name - which would certainly have additional marketing value?

I'm also very curious as to why he packed up and left and what's on his plate today....any thoughts?

He didn't call the car Chaparral because it was a standard out-of-the-box Lola (1991-93) or Reynard (1994-96). Then again, he did call his earlier Lola (1978/9) a "Chaparral-Lola" and the BS Fabrications (1979/82) a "Chaparral"...

This doesn't answer your questions but here is a link to a good interview w/ Jim Hall:

Regarding leaving team management, I seem to recall at the time that he was just tired of running a racing team.
