Rule changes!!
Due to the fact that I missed that cars could be lapped I have added a new rule, if you get lapped you must "fix" your time (or else you will get a better time then the other drivers). To fix the time you calculate your average lap time over the race (total time/laps complited) after that you add 4 sec to the average lap time, the time you get from there is your lap time in the laps you did not complite. This my sound hard to do but I have made a program that makes every thing easy :)
GT3 Time Fixer (its a webpage, no program to download).
Just enter your time in the correct format (e.g. 12:58.716) and enter the nr of laps you complited, after that press the submit button and you will get your new fixed time. Please only enter fixed times in this topic and also write if you were lapped or not.

For me it went like this, my total time after the race was 12:58.716, I was one lap down.
I entered 12:58.716 in the "Your Time" box and 9 in the "Laps" box.
The program then tells med that my average is 1:26.524 and my fixed total time is 14:29.240.

My first time: 14:29.240

Any questions? :drunk:

And I wanted the RUF ... I love the sound from that car!

Oh well, let's go sliding with the Cobra. Now give us a decent track! No reverse tracks and no city tracks.

Bummer!

After the GT40, I'd really prefer a car with good brakes!

If you had activated your PM or Mail you woth have got a chanse to vote but now I could not get in contact with you so you have to live with this car. :)

Now give us a decent track! No reverse tracks and no city tracks.

It will not be reverse track and it will not be a city track...

Hello, everyone, you'll seem to be a nice bunch over here so it's gonna be a pleasure to take part in this race. I'm not gonna be one of the fastest but I'll make damn sure I don't end up last either. Not to confuse anyone, I can race as JBonnier as it is my nick on this forum.

Winning the Cobra running the Elise 190 we used for Cote d'Azur was pretty entertaining, the Motorsport Elise beat me be by 0.5 seconds on my first trial mountain attempt and all the other races were really close. I still had Chrissy Boy's settings on the Elise which are nice but hardly forgiving.

My first few laps with the Cobra have been spin after spin -- should be another good round.

The problem with the city tracks is that bouncing of walls may be faster -- if we have a city track where that's not the case I'm fine with a city track.

Reverse tracks are cool -- I rarely run them so there's more initial learning, but the last 2 races were on reverse tracks and were great.

So we are supposed to enter the actual RACE mode in GT WC Proffessional Leauge this time then? With other cars and all?

Would be interested to hear what people think the optimum tire choice is for this 10-lapper.

Update: 12,40,395

Push too hard, and the rear tires will punish you,- making the last lap feel as if it was conducted on ice!

Still though, more to come. I think

In the last endurance round (round 5) pitting was widely considered unnecessary. So try as soft tires as you can without pitting. Quite hard I suppose.

Quite nervous tail in this beast... I smell burning rubber and lots of spins.

Speaking for myself, i think that is a mistake to make the last round like this, with times being calculated. I would call it off and go for a single lap round. Or take a faster car of choice.
Anybody has any comments?

I cant se who it will affact the outcome of the race. If you are faster then another driver over 9 laps (and the other driver also only drive 9 laps) you will still get a better time than that driver.
The lapped driver will not get a better time than the not lapped drivers unless somthing strange happen. I cant se anyone getting lapped more then once as I (offen last in the races) only got lapped once in my first race.

As I can se it it will not affect the result of the race, everyone will finish in there right positions :)

My point is: its complicated, and takes some of the excitement away. Again, a poor choice in my point of view.

Any decisions yet? Fix the time or just drive and postthe unfixed total time? I prefer the last choice, it's the same for everyone anyway. Don't wanna be lapped? Drive faster then ....

So what do we do?

Adjusted my gearing and lowered my lap times considerably (without burning out my rear tires -- I am using the hardest compound available)

Total Adjusted Time (using Viktor's calculator) 14:17.594 :smoking:

Sorry, I don't se your point.
Its complicated? Just eneter the page I posted a link to and there enter you time and laps complited, then my computer will do the rest :)
takes some of the excitement away No, you will still get the same difference between the drivers that drive the same amount of laps, cant se how it will take the ecitement away.

Drive, if you get lapped fix your time and post it here, also post the nr of laps you complited.

My second time
14:22.206 -1 lap
I spun into the pitlane on the last lap and lost about 30 sec!!

Polar this won't be a problem, after some races I think every body will managed to be on the same lap as the leader. Then this problem is no problem no more.

The only reason it's impossible to win this race is because we have to pit.
And to drive the Cobra with hard tiers is not a good idea, will drift way to mutch. So pic medium tiers and stop after 5 driven laps. Well thats my opinon.

Still lapped, driving without the diffs completely. This is one hell of a car to slide around. Crashed in the pit entry, felt like David Coulthard  ... so there is more time just by making a nice pit entry. I have to fight to come below 1:18.5 .. which I haven't yet. Damn! Oh well, I'm going softer on the setups and harder on the driving.

It's getting hard because I'm getting caught up in traffic now. That damn GT40 spoiled my last lap by two seconds.

I LOVE the little bit of air my car catches near the end of the front straight! :p

I'm running a very low ride height, doesn't seem to bother the car and really helps reduce awkward lateral weight transfer through the esses.

I'm running consistent 1:20 laps with the hardest tires.

No pitstops, very hard rubber. My best fixed time is currently 13:46.477 so it's better not to get lapped... Also noticed that spinning twice in the pitlane brings out the devil in me.

I'll have to take back what I said. At least half of it. Once I get up to speed to take the fight with the other cars I lose too much time. With the Cobra you really have to be quite a bit faster than the other cars to hold them behind you for a whole lap. A none-stopper may be faster for some drivers... If I could lap one second quicker per lap on a one-stopper then the traffic won't be much of a problem. Until then I'm stuck at 13.24.
