Hi there, members of the past, present, and future.

Whenever I introduce myself, it feels like my mind takes a brief holiday when I ask, “Who am I?” But then it pulls itself home when realizing that the real question is, “Who am I in this context?” That’s a bit easier to answer.

I'm a musician. The years have stacked up a bit but I'm still reasonably fast both up and down stairs and it still happens that women in child bearing age mistake me for a future. I've been interested in motorsport all my life but apart from some karting I've never raced on tracks with a 4-wheel vehicle and I have good reasons for that: 1. There was no track within a 80 mile radius from where I grew up and 2. There was no money.

That was no tragedy though since I was more interested in motorcycles anyway, maybe because to get a bike that makes you go "woooaaaw" when you open the throttle is only a fraction of the price of a car that does the same thing.

For some reason—perhaps my profession, or maybe the quirks of the universe—I don’t have any friends who are into motorsports. Not a single one, at least not anymore. I did have one, maybe my best friend, but he passed away last autumn after what should have been a routine surgery. We used to talk about motorsports in general, and F1 in particular, all the time. He was more hardcore than me, active on Twitter and Reddit. I think he might have been a member of this forum as well.

I used to be a huge ice hockey fan back when I lived in the country where I was born—a country that had ice. Discussing the intricacies hockey and analyzing games was a big part of life back the and throwing opinions around was maybe more important than the games themselves. There was no need to take to the Internet to do it either. But if you stop doing it, it does not take very long before interest dwindle and then one day you are watching a game and you realize that you don't recognize any of the players names and that you don't really care about who will win. That happened to me with hockey. There's no ice here.

So I turned to this forum so I can throw my opinions around and stay interested.

I don’t have a favorite team at the moment. I used to support McLaren, but that stopped abruptly when Zak invited Trump to their paddock. I still like their drivers, though. I think Verstappen is incredible, driving with a level of precision we’ve probably never seen in F1. Hamilton was a favorite of mine until he joined Mercedes, my least favorite team. MotoGP, though, has always been closest to my heart. It’s been a bit sad watching the two best riders on two of the worst bikes for the last few years. Marc has dug himself out of his hole now though, which is good. That said, I still haven’t forgiven him for what he did to Rossi.

Fabulous intro, welcome 👍

Hi Danicafreak

Try not to take the "lizard people" thread personally. I was a fan of Danica too and many of us are watching Deegan's Indy career with great interest.

Thanks Risil

I wont take the lizard people thread personally. The biggest thing I like about Deegan in indy so far is the fact that shes seems to be taking it so seriously. I thinking her ride really affected her.

Hi all!

Long time lurker of these boards but I finally decided to subscribe myself.

I'v got a masters degree in political science and currently work in IT.

I started watching F1 in 2001 and have supported Schumacher and Alonso throughout the years.

Currently, I'm a big Max fan.

Hello to you all. I'm a boring accountant in the real world.

Big fan of this forum and a long time lurker.

I've been a big F1 fan since the mid 90s and have supported mainly Hill and Alonso as well as whoever the underdog is for the title.

My favourite team used to be Williams but it is now whatever team Alonso is in and has been for quite some time, (although I will always have a soft spot for Ferrari).

Hey everyone, I'm Dre, 32, from London. Grew up a classic Dad influenced F1 fan as a kid and I was lucky enough to turn a hobby of making YouTube videos on it in to a career. You may have seen me as "Harrison101" in some places, but now I'm here as Production Coordinator for Autosport and the Motorsport Network, and look forward to chatting with some of you!  :cat:

Hi all. New member and just pulling over to say hello. Sixty-something fella from Birmingham, England. Been following F1 since the days of Jim, Jochen Rindt, Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart etc. I go all three days of Silverstone every year and I'm slowly working my way around Europe. Austria and Spa (third time) for this year.I don't support a particular team as that's for football far as I'm concerned. I just love the spectacle for what it is.
Cheers.

Hallo to whom I have not said hallo so far,... I am not new to this forum and somehow kep myself from here.

I am a researcher in Uni in the field of urban affairs.

I have been a big F1 fan for years and must say I like it too much to complete my jobs time after time.

I can only be a fanboy as I am not in any sense involved in F1 scene, but, as I followed F1 for a while, hoping that I can make good contributions to the thread.

Not so good at joining the flow of the thread as I have a bit of insecurity in my language. I am not a native English speaker.

How die.
