Hi, I've posted before on this site a few years ago but I don't think I ever introduced myself, Ive been involved in Historic Aston Martin and Historic racing since 1974 through the garage where I worked, Four Ashes Garage then at Dorridge, West Midlands, I've competed a bit myself and looked after / prepped various Astons & a few other cars up to 2018, since then I've reduced my involvement as cycling has largely taken over until this year. We bought the garage in 2003. One of our best results was a DBS V8 at Daytona 24 hr Historic where we beat the Pantera of Art Merzario into 1st in class, 9th or 10th overall in our plateau.

I am into racing for as long as I can remember and my first memories are of Schumacher in 95 and meeting Norbert Haug as a 4 or 5 year old at Hockenheim for a DTM race in the same year.
I would have loved to be a real world racing driver but oh well finances etc didn't really play into my favour.
Simracing did me quite well though. Looking forward to a good time here.

My name is Jens. I'm quite new to this, just recently became an F1 fan.
Been interested in the sport for some years, but after viewing Drive to survive I became a fan. Now I watch all the race weekends on F1TV.
Really looking forward to the new season with all the driver changes!
Also looking forward to discuss on this forum!
Wishing you all a great day!

Hello everyone. Recently signed up and looking forward to talking to you all. I'm an F1 fan and enjoy the politics off the track as much as the racing on track. Also have a big interest in Le Mans from the late 90s up to the mid 2000s, but that's one for another day... .

Hi, all.
My name is Richard, I'm from the Netherlands.
My first memories regarding F1 are Niki's crash at the Ring, and Gilles' blown tire (and his 'recovery' back to the pits) at Zandvoort.
I'm here mostly for reading constructive posts regarding modern F1.
Still have to get used to the formatting here, so have patience, please.
Cheers to a lock-free 2022!

Looking forward to interact with everyone!

Poor guy he was really driving unbelievably compared to Dan this weekend. Was stunned when Lewis was gaining and Norris banged in a 1:37!
Resisting the charge like a champ.
He will get his chance.
I just hope he doesnt have a career full of Kimi style luck from his macca days.

In the days I used to have hair on my head it looked like a sheep... In dutch with Arabian accenten this sound like Ska p. I didnt like my friends calling me that, that's why the 187.
A well those same friends introduced me to F1, myself was more football minded, when the Hakinnen Schumacher saga was playing out.
My friends all big Ferrari fans and the ass... I am I had to go with McLaren. Well had a couple of good seasons.
Being Dutch living in Spain for a long time now makes me support Jos and now Max of course and have a weak spot in my hart for El matador Fernando Alonso!
Wondering what to do with the Monaco GP circuit to make it exciting again brought me back to the forum.
Cheers gentlemen.

Based in Yorkshire, United Kingdom (local track is Cadwell Park, yes that’s in Lincolnshire) early 30s, registered as a Marshal but not yet completed my full training - thanks covid and having an 8 month old baby also curtailed my plans!
Mostly follow F1 but generally a big motorsports fan and will watch most series
Current favourite F1 driver: Max, have a soft spot for Alonso too. My favourite drivers previously were Schumacher and Kimi.
Series I’m slowly getting into: Really enjoying Indycar, but don’t feel particularly well informed about it. I know most of the drivers but not particularly which teams are the place to be/not to be. I’ve also recently got my motorsport.tv subscription, find Super GT and Super Formula fascinating, love the circuits they race at
Also have a collection of 1/43 F1 cars and did have an MX5 track day car before it went to the scrap heap…
Looking forward to being a bit more active here!

Hi all - been browsing the forum for about 3-4 weeks now.
27 year old guy from Charlottesville, Virginia (east coast U.S.A., a couple hour drive from Washington, D.C.).
I've followed motorsports generally for several years, however about a year ago I raced some karts with a friend of mine and caught the bug. I've become especially smitten with F1 this season, and have been putting a lot of hours into the iRacing simulator driving their F4 car (if anyone is an iRacing user, let me know - I'd absolutely love to have folks to turn laps with).
Current favorite driver: Leclerc - I have a soft spot for the guy. He seems like a genuinely good person and is phenomenally talented. However I don't dislike any of the drivers on the grid and will fully support all of them and their talent.
I've poked around the various online motorsport forums/communities that be, and Autosport appears to be the best of the bunch. Mature, intelligent, thoughtful, considerate members of the community from what I can glean. I've certainly learned a lot during my time reading the forum, and find the exchanges I've read to be particularly informative. Looking forward to getting to know more of you all and discussing our passion.

New, registered now, user from FInland.
Have to say that I have tried to register many, many times in last 10y or so, but it seems
that to get registered yourself to this forum is more difficult that robbing gold from Fort Knox...
But anyhow, impossible things seem to happen, so.
Have followed motor(car, for some reason zero interest for motorcycles) racing from about '82-83, nowadays I mostly don't follow other sports than motor racing, there's so much of it, so there's simply
isn't time for other sports, after formulas, gt's, rally, nascars, Indy, protos, dirt racing, drag racing... etc stuff. But that just fine.
Also I have played/driven race sims on pc(some on consoles too) about 20 years or more and continue to do that(why not).

Hi all!
My name is Luke. I've been a long time lurker on these boards (for about 7 years or so).
I've been watching F1 for around 15 years (2000 - 2007 / 2015 - now).
Used to be a big Michael fan and kind of lost interest when he left (hence my 2008 - 2014 F1 break).
I sympathise with several drivers now (Max mostly) but I wouldn't call myself a fan of any particular driver.

Hi all ,
As a new member let me start by saying i hope i keep the standards high , I'am 63 years young and been a F1 fan for as long as i have been stealing oxygen . Have supported many drivers and teams throughout my time but have always had a notion to support Scottish racers , was really happy when Coultard came on the scene until he won his first race and the commentator asked why he stopped for the Union Jack and not a Saltire and his reply was i'm British before i'm Scottish After that no more . Was always a Barrichello fan and a keen Michael fan.
Sad to say i didn't hate any team until Horner and red bull think the sport would be better if they were history , it amazes me how much they get away with where any other team get their head handed to them . Know i will get ripped into for my believes but the only time in my devotion to F1 has faded is red bull years can't wait for Horner to retire and play with Ginger Spice.

Hello and thank you for the approval! Looking forward to interacting with fellow F1 fans!
I may be a huge Michael Schumacher fan and lately a Max fan as well, but I also like to root for the underdog quite a lot.
Hope to see the midfield teams much closer to the front of the pack next year. Maybe the McLarens, Astons and the Alpines can do more next season hopefully and we don't just have 3 teams on the podium.
Would like to see a new race winner as well, maybe Lando or Oscar? Would love to see it.
Well, thanks for having me, see you around

Hello everyone!
Thanks for letting me in this great forum! I've been reading it for a good while and I really wanted to participate.
I'm a big F1 fan and racing fan in general (who knew reading my name?) And I also am a sim racer myself for fun.
My dad was a motorcycle trials rider, sadly he bought me a bike when I was a kid but what I needed was a kart. Unlike him I always liked for wheels, not two. Oh well.
Here I have seen many users that are very knowledgeable and that is what I was looking for, to discuss F1 with knowledgeable people.
Looking forward to chat to you guys. Cheers.
Edit: forgot to say, my fav driver was Senna, not only because he was an incredible driver, but also because of his personality.

Hi there everyone! My name is Shawn - I'm from Malaysia and i've been a long-time lurker on the forums (I've been trying to set up an account since 2019 only for it to be unsuccessful, at least until now)
I follow a myriad of racing series (F1, FE, NASCAR, Indycar, MotoGP, Repco SC, GTWC, WEC, the list goes on) but atm I tend to gravitate more towards Formula E and Indycar. My favorite drivers are Fernando Alonso, Felix Rosenqvist, Nick Cassidy and Tyler Reddick.
In addition to being a frayed old viewer of the sport (since 2011, lel), I also draw racetracks and create alternate histories of my own, and recently dabbled in database creation too. Outside of this, I also follow a bit of alpine skiing and talk about progressive politics amongst other odd stuff.
Anyways, it's great to finally be on here and I'm looking forward to have a great time!

Welcome to all who have joined recently.
And Benchulo - do you get to attend live racing in India, or are you aware of Indian racing history? It would be great for those of us miles away to learn more (I'm in London). But don't worry if you know nothing, but follow F1 on TV - you are very welcome anyway!

Maybe a new thread about Indian racing one day - perhaps it would also flush out other Indian enthusiasts who could tell us all about Formula Maruti and so on. You might want to rack up a few posts before starting a new thead; at one time I think the rule was you had to have posted 40 times before starting a new thread, but I can't find that in the Forum Rules and might be imagining it.

Hi folks,
I am a long time lurker, first time poster, who lives in Melbourne.
As the name suggests I'm more of casual rather than diehard fan. I am mostly interested in F1, but occasionally watch the Australian V8 Supercars when I have time and I'm planning on going down to Phillip Island for the Motogp in October.
I was a big fan of Mark Webber when he was in F1, Webber was exciting to watch because he often drove at the ragged edge trying to keep up with guys who were naturally faster. I kind of lost interest in F1 when he retired but then my youngest daughter started showing interest in F1 so that changes everything.
