So, I'm posting a reply to a thread, click on the post message tab and it sends me back to the thread like normal but my reply is missing. So I go back to the BB I'm in and the thread is at the top of the list like it should be. I click on it, and there is my post. Is this normal?

Yes, it happens sometimes- just refresh he page until it appears.
