At the risk of taking the thread even further off topic... anyone on TNF in England like to smoke a cigar after dinner in their private members club... have a cigarette with their beer and a game of darts... feel that a smack on the back of the legs can nip a childish tantrum in the bud... want to drive their car from Knightsbridge to Docklands without visitng Elephant and Castle... used to look forward to having a modest pension and, now that they've arrived, find that the pension is worth the diminished square root of sweet very little... enjoy riding to hounds?
I don't think we in England should be too complacent about thinking such mindless bureaucracy and 'entrenched arbiters of what "they" think we should believe' could never happen here.
Friends - we're deep, deep in it already.
I'm afraid I can all too easily see such a thing happening here, albeit perhaps not to a replica car - but in more than enough ways already to make me very wary of thinking myself safe just to get on with my life the way I want.

As Mal9444 says "we're deep in it already". We have had recent threads about Monza, Silverstone and this current thread which I agree has wandered off course but unless we stand up to be counted we are going to lose whatever we hold dear. For Evil To Triumph It Only Requires That Good Men Do Nothing
So, what the hell are you doing in France? Move to South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi or Kansas and become a member of the Republican Party and smite Evil a terrible blow simply by being around the Right sort of people -- they hate government and both loathe and despise "Political Correctness," especially when it gets in the way of the Ownership Society. You would certainly be much happier -- but I would suggest toning down the nasty remarks about the American Army.... some of them might get the wrong idea about you....
