The beautiful little Nike Mk 4 of Carole Nicholls (CAROLE1 on TNF), seen yesterday at my club’s sprint at Llandow. Carole is doing a great job preserving her father’s Nike legacy.

I noticed Alan Slater racing in the first few rounds of the Castle Combe Formula Ford championship in a Nike Mk4 . Would this be the same car Tim ?

I’m not sure, Gaz, but I doubt it. Carole and I were on the same marshals’ post at a Castle Combe sprint last year, so spent most of the day chatting about Nikes and all the work that her father Ken had done for other people. (Carole reckoned her Dad had built more Lister chassis than Brian Lister himself.)

Anyway, at that time she made no mention of her treasured Nike being raced by anyone else. As I was involved in the event organisation last Saturday I only had time for a brief chat with Carole, but at the time she was carefully wiping every last speck of dirt off the car and, as Slater had raced his car at Combe the previous Monday, I think she’d have made some mention of it if they’d been using the same car.

Yes Tim , you're right it does seem unlikely . It was nice to see Pete Hannam also running his Nike Mk6 at Castle Combe's Easter Monday 50th Anniversary Formula Ford race , although due to engine problems he failed to complete a racing lap . Nice pic by the way Tim !

Interesting photos jj. In the first, Jochen Rindt, obviously, but is that Guy Ligier in the foreground?

Totally off subject, the Mk3 Zephyr wagon is something I have never seen here in Oz. Mk2s yes, both the Aussie and UK versions.

I guess they never bothered with Mk3s here as by then the main emphasis was on Falcons
