The most beautiful 2007 F1 car

For my taste, the hit of this season is going to be Ferrari F2007. Without Marlboro there is less white, which is used now only where it needed to. Red front and rear wings make the car outstandingly stylish (I can't remember when Ferrari's wings were red last time). Yellow Shell sticker and Massa's helmet are completing traditional color palette. Black Honda and silver'n'red McLaren are nice too, but this year's Ferrari is superb.

The Ferrari red just looks really wrong this year.
That must be the best unintentional joke of the pre-season 2007. Ferrari raced with that puky orangy red for the past few seasons due to their sponsor. Gone the sponsor, Ferrari finally is becoming more traditional Italian red, the color that historically covered all Italian cars (Alfa Romeo, Maserati, etc. were all red, the british green, french blue, etc).

The red Ferrari are running is hardly Rosso Corsa. And with the wings now painted in the same "pukey orangy red" to use your term, the colour looks even more accentuated. Just my opinion of course, but then I've never been partial to red cars, it's the colour of a hairdresser's car.

It`s like a curvy beautiful woman with a stylish make-up...
http://f1.gpupdate.n...8414&catID=1478
... the only problem is that it`s a Red Bull - I`ve got the same problem with playboy girls...they look nice but they aren`t stylish in the sense of beying exposed to everyone... it`s a commercial more than a car :/ ... but it still turns me on

I also like Hondas tight rear and the big

Mclaren is like a small pretty stylish woman, but looks a bit like a mess, too much make-up maybe...?
The Ferrari bores me, to me the car has looked almost the same for the last 5 years and the front wing looks bulky. Shes still got that old hair cut from the 90`s..
Toyota was born without a fashion sense, and it lacks that spark in the eyes and the same goes to BMW. Boring girls, no sense of humor.
Spyker is like a old woman in a discotheque - fatter than the young ones and not impressing anyone anymore. Kind of sad.
Williams is just middle-aged, sort of nice, but bores me like the Ferrari.
Super Aguri is not even a girl. Together with STR they make a ****** shemale couple with a bad self-esteem.
Everyone is already laughing at Renault, a decent girl gone bad. Like someone showing too much cleavage in a funeral

I just dislike the yellow nose.
I don't know why people say Ferrari is beautifull.
This year the car is just a red backround with sponsor stickers in it.
There is no artistic concept involved.
Not even the white stripes along the car mixed with tiny green and red lines, just Marlboro subliminar bar codes sponsorship.

We can't say too much about the Honda yet, unless you're so in love with the carshape that the - as of yet unrevealed - livery doesn't matter. Or if you stick with the black testversion, but this very probably won't be raced (probably a pity).

I also like the black Honda, it somehow reminds me the old Lotus John Player Special livery

I would like to remark that nowadays every car is ugly with all these triple wings, bargeboards and stuff.
Compare anyone in the grid with this old Gordon Murray's Brabham BT55:

In that regard, Ferrari comes out on top, the paint job is the least annoying of the current grid ;)

If only that thing had been even remotely quick...
... and Elio de Angelis had not died in it.
Gordon Murray sort of build the definitive version of that car in 1988 for McLaren, but it did look not nearly as good in Marlboro colors, I think. Of course it was a tiny bit more competitive ;).

The 1995 and 96 Ferraris, the Brabbham above.
Oh and the 2007 Redbull RB3.

As for succesfull cars that were also very good looking, I'm very partial to the MP4/13 of 1998 which I considered to have both a good livery and a good carshape. For that matter, the F2002 had a nice carshape as well and it was pretty decent ;) .
And what about the JPS Lotuses from 1984-1986? Beautiful F1s.

Unique in my opinion.

Hope they don't spoil it with an ugly livery.

You should have placed only one entry for the MP4-22/RBR3/STR2 as the only major difference is the livery.Originally posted by VoidNT
Well, all teams except Super Aguri have launched their contenders for 2007 season, and I think it's right time to open this poll. Which car do you think is the most beautiful? This could mean best looking aerodynamics, stylish color scheme and so on, as well as combination of all aesthetic factors.

But the livery is very important, perhaps moreso than the shape which is often similar between almost all cars nowadays, and the Red Bull livery or the STR one is a major difference - to me at least. I like the RBR3 in its colours, but I despise the STR livery.Originally posted by Timstr11

The cars are still very different.
I guess it depends on how you look at an F1 car.
Yes they all have front and rear wings, barge boards, but yet in very different shapes and proportions and positions.

From the wikipedia article on the BT52:Originally posted by Risil
Anyone know why Gordon Murray decided to forego sidepods with it, though?
After the ground effect cars were banned at the end of the previous season, the FIA mandated that all F1 cars be designed with flat undersides for safety reasons. The previously crucial sidepods were now generating lift rather than suction and so the BT52 had short, angular sidepods to keep lift at a minimum. The car featured a distinctive dart-shaped profile and oversized rear wing in an effort to claw back as much downforce as possible.
Additionally, a poster on the tech forum said that the car was designed to have rearward weigth bias.

It looks like something from a japanese cartoon:

The new McLaren is probably the coolest, but will always like the ferrari.
I wish the other teams would get better designs.....Renault WTF???
Now it seems that some teams just copy other teams designs, or they are just too similar:
Super Aguri copies Toyota
Spyker in my opinion copies some designs from McLaren...at least in some designs

...but in orange
Toro Rosso -----> Red bull
Renault....WTF???
There should be more radical and imaginative designs like one of my favorites:
'86 benetton

Just my opinion of course, but then I've never been partial to red cars, it's the colour of a hairdresser's car.
That is so very true, but the problem is your hairdresser drives a Mini or a Punto or a Peugeot, which makes for a very annoying site. However, when you see a Ferrari or a Carrera at 160 mph....red is its color... and usually there is no hairdresser driving it......
I don't know why people say Ferrari is beautifull. This year the car is just a red backround with sponsor stickers in it. There is no artistic concept involved
And THAT is the whole point. I don't want to see a Ferrari with an "artistic concept" as livery. It is a Ferrari, for God's sake, it doesn't need it. It would be even more beautiful if they could afford no sponsors, all red, an even darker red. I don't want to ever see a Ferrari look like a Toyota or Auguri, with red flames on white or some other idiotic "artistic concept" like that.
In any case, and again, I think you missed the point, most people who say the Ferrari is beautiful (me among them) are talking MOSTLY about the car design/shapes, not focusing 100% on paint jobs as you do. The car looks awesome, great shapes and curves, great front, aggressive as hell, yet sexy and curvaceous. Paint it black or silver, it would be still a hell of a great looking car. The fact the orange and white are mostly gone, it's an added bonus.
.. and the multitude of sponsors does the rest. Lot's of money, but lot's of visual cluttering too.
In that regard, Ferrari comes out on top, the paint job is the least annoying of the current grid
as65p exactly my point. Clutter bussies the mind with details but takes away the purity of the design from the car. The Ferrari cars are clutter too, just not as much. Now attach 30 logos to that beautiful Brabham and see it become another advertising poster on wheels.

I don't know about that. On the one hand i have my self, a renault fanboy, who can't stand the renault of this year

On the other hand we have 33% + voting for the Ferrari, a car that makes the Winfield Williams look like a beautifull car in comparison and you know something stinks...

I really think Ferrari's livery is a step backwards this year the new barcodes are horrible and the red wings aren't doing it for me.

The step backward in livery is the greatest thing about it......the more red and the less cluetter....the better.
The barcodes...... are simply place holders...that is where you will read Marlboro.....
