In the thirties, forties and fifties, there were entries at Le Mans from Chrysler and Hudson. These were regular production models, not like the modified Lolas that Ford called their own during the sixties.
But another American manufacturer raced 'works' cars in the thirties, and on home soil in the ARCA racing. A name almost forgotten today, as far as everyday motorists are concerned, Willys had a nice little side interest for their engineers in the racing fostered by the Collier brothers.
Some of the circuits were interesting, too.
