In an effort to be completely none PC I am after photos of grid girls...

Specifically of Adelaide GP 1985 grid girls. I do have a (pretty none PC) reason for asking besides the more normal male interest... My boss (for my 2 day a week contract job) let it slip in casual conversation some time ago that she had been a grid girl at the Adelaide 1985 GP. Anyway she is leaving her current employment to move on to another (more high powered) marketing job and I would like to be able to present her with a photo for her to take with her. All in the best of good spirits and which I am sure she would enjoy.

According to the AGP book, Graham Monro took some of them...

No, I've never heard of him before.

It would be a very long shot if 2Bob's boss was featured, but there's currently a book for sale on French eBay called "Les Filles dans la Course" which covers this very subject. Item number 220192271741. The lady in the second double-page spread in the picture sequence is particularly - er - striking!

Is it possible to contact the Adelaide newspapers? I am sure they will have had photographers at the event - and being mere males what will they have photographed? The photos should be on file.

I have no idea what your boss looks like, but I vaguely recall a publication at my home from this specific race. Will check tonight.

The pimp-look-a-like that has been running F1 the last couple of years, surely must also have a nice photo collection. ;)

There was a glossy Australian magazine in the eighties, "Prix Editions" I believe was the name. I have a few copies and I clearly recall that the one covering the Australian Grand Prix had a LOT of pictures of grid girls, and possibly even a group shot of them all (I do remember because of the Foster's uniforms... ah heck, you won't believe me anyhow! :D). Unfortunately, my copy is from 1987, but perhaps someone out there has the 1985 magazine?

...whether this is the one?

Oh, Speedy... that one you mention was merely a paying spectator!

I remember her.

I followed her up the stairs from the train at Adelaide Central.

And I never forget a...ah...face.

As a friend of mine once said, the problem with really young beautiful women is that sooner or later you have to have a conversation with them.

Fines
If you can message me about the 1987 grand Prix book you mentioned I'd be appreciative. I know a girl who was one and is looking for photos

I am not Fines, but I know him...   ;)

Unfortunately, my private messaging is disabled on this board (for whatever 'reason' ), so I can't read or send messages. But you can send an email to (my) firstnamelastname (without dot) at gmail dot com, then we can discuss business.  :smoking:

Is that the lady you're looking for? I got your mail, will have a look through what I have and get back to you, might take a few days though. :)
