As we wait for the new season to begin and there's not much racing in the coming months, this will pass the time.

It's a bit like the Summer Break Quiz (Name The Driver)http://forums.autosp...mer-break-quiz/ but because there's a lot of time to kill, you can "Name The whatever you want". It can be a driver if you want , or it could be a circuit, team, a race, the year e.t.c (anything motorsport related),

You have to give a clue/s and if your answer is too hard to get then maybe you should give another clue. The clues can be in any form (unlike the Summer Break Quiz) via picture, a list, a who's missing or just a general comment.

The question can be harder than Bridgestone tyres or as easy as winning the 2005 US Grand Prix. Whoever gets the question right can set the next question!

Enjoy!

Alright.

I'm searching for that driver pairing (technically two, so four drivers) who did the most races together without any of them winning a championship during that partnership.

You're close on the team thing. As a clue, if Phil Hill had somehow managed to extend his F1 career to 1978 he'd have had a possibility of doing the same

Nobody beats Giancarlo Fisichella in that. Drove for one team 3 times in separate stints, and another twice. Jordan and Benetton.

Both Laffite and Kovalainen raced for two teams bearing same name, but considered different team.

Laffite drove for Frank Williams Racing Cars in 1974-75 and then the current form of Williams in 1983-84.

Heikki Kovalainen drove Lotus Racing/Team Lotus in 2010-11 and then Lotus Grand Prix in 2013.

Driver A, driving for team X was injured and missed one race. He was replaced by driver B. Next year drivers A and B were team-mates in team Y for majority of the season.

Can you name A, B, X and Y?

That's a McLaren MP4/10 and that's either Mika Hakkinen or Jan Magnussen. I go for Magnussen because then I also have the 'where' right as he only drove at the pacific GP in Aida, Japan, 22 October 1995. A gamble on the Minardi driver: Pedro Lamy

As much as I like THEWALL's answer I'm gonna have to give it to Vitesse2. Craig did set the record, so overall it was a good day for him

What's significant about this entry for the 1946 Indy 500?

Grancor was the Granatelli family's outfit. So, I'll guess that it was Andy Granatelli's first entry at Indy.

Correct. The driver is Danny Kladis. Later that year - at the behest of Al Sweeney of National Speedways - the three Granatelli brothers fitted eight JATO rockets in the tail of the distinctive Hulbert Special (a stylish but ineffective car built in 1934 to the 'Junk Formula') and rechristened it as the Grancor Rocket Firebug. Driven by Andy Granatelli under the nom de course of 'Antonio the Great' it toured the dirt tracks and state fairs of the Mid-West. Reunited with the car half a century later Granatelli – the owner of the STP-sponsored car which provided Mario Andretti with his only Indianapolis 500 win in 1969 - recalled that it was impossible to reach over 85mph on a half-mile dirt track, but the rockets made so much noise, smoke and dust that no one could see the car, much less determine his speeds (which ticket hustlers suggested could reach 650mph!) It was one of no fewer than three JATO-boosted cars doing the rounds of American and Australian speedways that year ...

Then I would like to continue on the female beauty side of motorsport:

2. When?

3. Where and what event?

4. Whose car?

5. What is the car make and model?

Name the missing driver and the context.

The last 10 drivers to do this feat are:

Gerhard Berger

Jacques Vileneuve

Mika Hakkinen

Michael Schumacher

Rubens Barrichello

Giancarlo Fisichella

Fernando ALonso

Kimi Raikkonen

Jenson Button

?

Who is ?

I simply haven't the slightest clue on F1paul's question that preceeded this question and perhaps this one should not have been questioned without Paul's question being answered.

But it is and at least I have an answer on this one:  Kevin Cogan in 1987 at Indy with a March 87C-Chevy, started 24th, finished 31rd that year, retired after 21 laps with a broken oil pump.

Since F1Paul's question still stands to be answered, I won't put in a new question should I be eligible to throw up a new one.

Henri

Here's 2 big clues. The context is to do with winning a race a certain way and Michael Schumacher has done it twice.

Winning a race that was shortened due to a false start/someone stalling on the grid/whatever? I'm really reaching here, can't really find one indisputable thing in common between all these guys' wins.

I would say either winning a race whose start was aborted or winning after being in quite a lowly position.

Pending on f1paul's confirmation (I'm very sure about my answer) I'm proposing the next question

?

B. McLaren

N. Lauda

G. Villeneuve

A. Prost

D. Hill

J. Villeneuve

K. Raikkonen

F. Alonso

?

Searching for the two drivers in question and the context. It's in chronological order btw.
