Six Hours or 500km Sprint race ?

I followed Al closely during his career, mostly at Daytona & Sebring but also up at Lime Rock. Only time I witnessed something close to Penske perfection in detail. After his accident the team brought the Lowenbrau 962 to Daytona along with his entire family & close friends. After one demonstration lap, the car, driven by Derek Bell was pushed into the grass in the middle of the tri-oval. Everyone in attendance just milled around in silence. I have photos I took that day but don’t look at them often because it’s just depressing to view them. His son was exspecialy distraught and emotionless. Al was a Christian, and I believe that gave all the energy to move forward from such a loss. If anyone is interested I will post a few photos from that sad day.

Tim I use a iPad ! Explain why you can’t just upload a photo directly to the site like most forum's

If they aren’t ridiculous why are all the photos from past threads missing ? The older posts are worthless without the photos.

I’ve modified my post above to include iPads.Tim I use a iPad ! Explain why you can’t just upload a photo directly to the site like most forum's
Although it is indeed easier to post photos directly onto social media sites such as Facebook, remember that, for Facebook anyway, you surrender to them part of the rights to your photo when you post it there. This may not worry some people, but I don’t think professional photographers such as E1pix would ever risk posting their photos there. As has been explained on several occasions, the primary reasons that Autosport doesn't offer photo hosting are:
1 The cost of doing it. This has been the case since the earliest days of Atlas, when storage and bandwidth cost serious money. As of a few minutes ago the board had just under 8.4 million posts - if even 5% of those included hosted images we would need MUCH bigger servers to cope. And I would remind you that access to the board is free, gratis, for nothing.
2 Copyright. Autosport's owners - Haymarket and now Motorsport.com - are both big fish and would not wish to get involved in being sued for hosting images which might infringe somebody's copyright.
Uploading pictures from remote sites is NOT difficult. Problems only really occur when - as has happened several times - previously free to use hosting sites have changed their rules.
