If Hamilton wins he will equal his own record of most wins at a single circuit (9)
He could also extend the record for most laps lead at a GP or circuit 487. Second on the list is Bill Vukovich 485 Indianapolis.
Also the most km led at a single GP 2134km. He is also second with 2051km British GP. Bill is third with 1951km.

Brand new race engineer for Norris, or has he had him before? I don't recognise the voice.
He had him at a race or two earlier this year too, some teams are rotating the race engineers to rest them. Logan has a different race engineer too this weekend.

The problem is a faulty driver in CrowdStrike's Falcon Sensor security software. The faulty driver has been placed in the %windir%\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike folder and when the driver is loaded it causes a blue screen of death. Computers that are stuck in a loop of blue screens of death will have to be rebooted in safe mode, after which the faulty driver must be deleted, the CrowdStrike folder must be renamed, and the CrowdStrike Agent service must be disabled, and then you will have to wait for CrowdStrike to release a patch until you can use the software again... https://en.m.wikiped...l_cyber_outages https://www.techworm...h-ways-fix.html
I bet a Checo gets a bit nervous reading that the faulty driver must be deleted.

The vanity cover on the Merc seems to be open this weekend. So it is for cooling like they said it was all along?

That is true. I'm still going to doubt they'll be able to replicate anywhere close to that kind of form though not with how their season has been!Sauber were mighty around here last year to be fair. Zhou qualifed 5th, 3 tenths off pole.

George will be on pole I have no doubt
I think so too. And if he is, I reckon RBR are lost. Severely. I'm not buying into the "high DF circuit = no shoulders" narrative at all. When you announce an important update and it comes with reversing a key element of your car's innovation, then it's not a good look. It's early days, but FP1 isn't exactly promising either. But let's see.

I think this is premature. RedBull usually run the Honda PU's quite low on Fridays, and especially since they've already used all their allocated parts and with the heat, I am actually surprised Verstappen is 2nd. I think it looks quite promising actually. In terms of removing the shoulders, I think this is what was planned for some time as there have been indications of a visual upgrade that would change the look of the car.

Stella is fantastic. Along with Vasseur, one of the best leaders F1 has ever seen.

Still can't believe Ferrari let Stella go at the time. I know he followed Fernando to McLaren to continue being his race engineer, but always thought that Ferrari should have put up a fight for him.

For example, both Mercedes ran a brand new set of Soft tyres for only three laps, out-hot-in.
Those sets are now handed back to Pirelli and can't be used for the rest of the weekend. It's a total waste. 10km on a set of tyres, and yet come Sunday some will be going 100km!
I understand why the rule is in place - to encourage track running - but F1 has moved on from quiet, 90 minute practice sessions.
On hot weekends like this, giving the teams access to as many tyres as possible is important because if you want to run an aero rake, test item, setup tweak or simply give your driver more laps on track, you have to burn a precious new set of tyres while you're at it.
We saw last year during ATA weekends that teams would often open a session on a scrubbed set of tyres for installation laps and the like, before moving to new sets for the serious running. This is better for everyone, the fans see just as much running, and the teams have slightly more margin for setup and fine-tuning. Contrary to some, I prefer it when a team/driver can put their best foot forwards, rather than suffer the "unpredictability" from restricted or compromised running.
My preference would be to allow teams to carry one set of used tyres over to both FP2 and FP3, before handing them back before qualifying as normal. I'm sure they could add a regulation along the lines of "the tyre set carried over must have been run for at least Xkm" to dissuade teams from hoarding tyres.

A "touch on the wall" is about as much as an understatement as the "inchident" one.

I remember someone calling Leclerc the most consistent driver with Max. That really aged like milk.
Max has Perez
Leclerc has Sainz
Hamilton has Russell
Norris has Piastri
Can you spot the difference?
Don't be so confident your post will not age just as badly.

He just takes too much risks in my opinion, which sometimes pays off but often doesn’t.

They seriously need to go back to pausing the clock under red flag, especially with the amount of them we get now in FP sessions.

This has nothing to do with binning it on your own which Leclerc does a lot of.
