Forget about Gp4 and F12002 for now and download Generally!
It's just like good all Slick n' Slide, but better graphic and new view angle.
It's freeware.
Download generally10beta.zip
PS. thats old link so I'll add this link to Generally homepage where you can find newer version of game and some more usefull stuff...like tracks.

There should be a Tracks folder somewhere.. and the Track names appear in a box below the driver selection screen (12 tracks).
If not, try downloading it again
Jake: It's very simple: in the sound folder there are two subfolders. Default and Funny. You can change between the two soundscemes in the options menu.
To add a new soundscheme, just create a new subfolder! You need 5 soundfiles:
Damage.wav -> The sound you hear when you hit something
Ding.wav -> The countdown sound at the lights and the sound you hear when you start the final lap
Engine.wav -> The engine
Skid.wav -> Skid sound
Yeah.wav -> Sound played when the winner crosses the line and at the end of a season.
I just made a copy of the Default folder and replaced the sounds one by one 'till I found some I liked. Try this one to start with, that's the engine sound I'm using: http://www.hi.is/~bjornkri/Engine.wav

I completely suck at it however - have to turn the computer AI down to 40% to even get a look in!

Bjorn: You should let game makers know about your sound patch! It's awesome!

Hi,
Track editor exists and we will release it in few weeks.
Online multiplayer mode would be nice, but there's this problem with lag. In this type of game even smallest amount of lag would pretty much take the fun out of it, i think. Maybe some sort of online play mode is possible, but that's not going to happen any time soon, unfortunately.
BTW, your message was first that came outside of finland, and it's only a week after we posted the game to a finnish gaming site (www.suomipelit.com). The game is spreading a lot faster than i thought it would.

Uploaded the wrong file yesterday, that was the default sound..
try this one: http://www.hi.is/~bjornkri/Engine.wav
Stupid IE cache... if you're still getting the same sound, try this:
http://www.hi.is/~bjornkri/Engine2.wav
And then rename it to Engine.wav...

It's not too hard if you learn the tracks. I can beat the AI at 100% on Agari. My current best time there is 8.45 on the Formula car.
How's everyone elses lap times?
EDIT: my lap time was with 0% tyre wear, 0% fuel consumption, 0% damage, and 0 kg of fuel. This way the car performance is always the same.

I wrote to the developers and they are considering adding a qualifying session to the race.

They all handle differently--for example, the Yankee is supposed to be like a stock car...What's the difference between different cars?
