Seeing all the reactions here it must be clear that the only culprit is Max, he must have vetoed ricciardo's move to Ferrari

Well the honey badger is being cheeky here with these statements and more so being a bit disingenuous in saying that someone at Ferrari vetoed his move. Its plausible as you never know but looking at things from outside it must hurt not being valued as you would have liked and not being selected so my sympathies with the Dan, but top teams can be ruthless at times and political also. Personally, if someone compares Riccardo's move to Renault ve Hamilton's to Mercedes is good for conversation sake but not based on fact and reality. Mercedes had Ross Brawn and at Renault there is a clown in the name of Cyril so no comparison there but more so Mercedes were investing heavily and gearing to future reg changes, something which so far we haven't been able to see at Renault. Coming back to the topic, Daniel had his hands full dealing with Max and wanted a change but unfortunately Ferrari found in grown talent in Charles so gotta say luck was also to blame for Riccardo. My best wishes to one the best overtakers on the grid but I found his particular statement about Ferrari vetoing to be rather cheeky.

Anyway, next year has so much promise, lets just hope that a few of these potential new lineups and deals turn into performance, and Merc's party is finally over at the hands of someone! hell maybe even Renault will come good and it will be Dan and Hulk picking up podiums some weekends and he wont regret the move one bit.

The only question is why would Max veto Ricciardo in Ferrari? Maybe he doesn't want to see a driver he beat in a quicker car beating him?!   So he effectively sent Ricciardo into Renault - If the man I have beaten wants to drive elsewhere, he shall drive in an inferior car, not in a better car.

Seems so. The thing is, Max fans have nothing to be salty about. Dan’s fans for the most part seem to be a bit saltier. Not a judgement, just an observation.

Not sure how you observe dan fans being saltier? Reading back through this thread it seems to be alot of negativity towards Dan from a number of Max fans. It seems to filter through every Dan related thread lately particularly from certain posters even though he is no longer vs Max nor with Red Bull. Sad really when this thread was about Dan, Vettel and Ferrari and hopefully it doesn't occur in the Hulk vs Dan thread.

It's a personal observation, not claiming it to be a fact.

 

In my opinion there are only a very few Dutch guys here who actually do so. The rest to me seem to be just fine and not salty at all. A shame that the many get blamed for what the very few do here, although you already acknowledge as well it's mostly down to a few posters here. You can hit ignore buttons on this forum if you don't want to be confronted with such comments.

 

It's a shame though. I see it on both sides. There are a few hardcore Ricciardo fan boys here that completely rub me the wrong way with their comments, but I tend to just not take their stuff into account. And exactly the same applies to some hard core Max fan boys, and they rub me the wrong way just the same. The thing is that those posts fuel most of the debate, and that's why most of these threads spin out of control.

 

They luckily are outnumbered by very reasonable autosport fans on both sides of this planet who can debate here just fine and are a pleasure to exchange thoughts with.

I gotta say I think reality does rub salt in the wounds a touch for the Ricciardo fanboys. I am a fan... but thats opposed to a 'fanboy'.

Verstappen is the faster driver. On pure pace. There isn't much in it... but there doesn't need to be. The evidence is there.

I said from the beginning it was a Senna and Prost scenario, with Daniel quite clearly playing the 'Prost' part. In equal cars vying for a championship Daniel can beat Max... but it won't be through just sheer speed. Daniel would have to maximise other areas and he has the talent and qualities to do that.

Max reminds me alot of Hamilton at an early age. Thats a scary proposition if he evolves at the same rate and can nail his career decisions.

I don't know why people use the word veto, there is no need for any veto in current F1, written in the contract or just a verbal agreement. It's common sense that pairing certain drivers will cause a mess or a lot of stress in the team, team principals don't have what it takes to keep some drivers under control , so they rather not take the chance even if it will produce an spectacle for F1.

 

I don't think any driver has the power to veto anyone, but they will find their way to let the team principal what they think about certain drivers, sometimes they are asked in the first place.

It's like they think they have the single right to be a Ric. fan or have the single right to have a opinion about a Ric. related subject.

The problem (not really problem for me, but observation/conclusion) is the critic is far too one sided.

 

For instance, the backless i have gotten for weeks/month for predicting and underlying extensively with points why Ric. would go to Renault wasn't mild. Now the same people are total pro renault, pro this choice but the "critical points" in the analyse that made my conclusion of the prediction they keep dismissing. They (some) keep for instance saying he didn't go to the other 2 because "no 2 nr1 drivers" while all facts say difference (Toto wanted Max next to Hamilton for instance). In the VS there was a lot of double fan's, of course little more one than other, that's from both sides. But if than here a critical statement about Ric. or this subject is made by a (also) Max fan, than others bring that part to the forefront, not the point made by that poster, but his fanboyism of a other driver.

 

Reddington challenges Ibennie here on this page, It's Ibennie who makes the accusation, It's Ibennie who makes the (also) Max fan defend himself. It's Ibennie who than doesn't respond by acknowledge his wrong accusation and or deliver the asked proof. But, it's the (also) Max fan that's getting the blame making all about Max.

 

The once i respond on where all because they make clear assuming i made up bullshit, of course i have to respond on that. It where also ?, so a response is also nice to give than.

My final response made him not again ask same offtopic assuming question, but if he didn't make those assuming questions that i make up bullshit, there would have been by now 4 or 5 postings less from me on this page.

 

It seems to me, these 2 examples are clear that it are not Max fan's who make it a Max topic.

 

Edit: Of course all far of topic, but that's already for pages. Also natural consequence for closing the VS topic i think. Some thoughts and conversations and same interested people still have to find their way on the forum and by keeping responding too each other just because a respond is better than a ignore of the too respond posting like this one.

Totally agree!! I have made 2 complains about that by the moderators. That's why i started the exit Dan topic to say goodbye. had responded to Moderator would start with sofa if came, but took that long, i thought, possible not this year, so lets use this.
