Indeed the Eifelland F1, and many other cars too.
As well as the Ferrari Testa D'Oro like the Eiffelland used for performance albeit as land speed record car. https://www.classicd...nd-speed-lunacy

I don't know if Reinhard is still updating this thread (I do hope so, I find it valuable with what I do) but one from 2017 is Marcus Niven, former Formula 2 driver. He died on the 6th January 2017. Only found this out via gov.uk death record information and subsequent death certificate so no link, I'm afraid.

It's another day of great sadness for the Portuguese motoring scene, as one of our best drivers ever passed away today. Joaquim Moutinho, widely known abroad for winning the 1986 Portuguese Rally, marred by the accident of his long-time rival Joaquim Santos in Sintra, which led to the boycott and retirement of the remaining works teams, was a driver which excelled both in circuts and open roads, being Portuguese National Champion in 1981 and Portuguese Rally Champion in 1985 and 1986. He died today, aged 68, after a long ilness.

IMSA racing veteran and confidant of Paul Newman, Michael Brockman, passed away last month.
Brockman was an endurance racing specialist who had overall podium finishes at Sebring ('73) and Daytona ('95 and a class victory) to his credit, competing in the Daytona 24 Hours no fewer than 14 times.
He had been a journalist with Motor Trend, then an actor and a stuntman before settling in Milford CT running the local Mazda dealership.

Sadly there's even more bad news from Portugal. After Joaquim Moutinho, the renowned co-driver Jorge Cirne passed away last Tuesday with 74 years old. And, today, the morning news reported the death of Domingos Piedade after a long ilness. Piedade was, perhaps, one of the most renowned Portuguese man among the motoring fraternity, as he had a long career on the car industry, but also as a journalist, team and driver manager and TV Commentator. He had 75 years old.

I never managed to reach him, even if he was also on social media. He was retired from journalism and I haven't so many big connections to meet him. Many people from my age, even if they're not so focused on motoring history like me, said they all loved to meet him and hear his amazing stories from his days. He and the sadly departed António Cerqueira were TV commentators for Portuguese television during the 90's, so the days when my generation became a fan of F1.

Renowned American Porsche dealer Chuck Stoddard passed away in October. In the 1950s he began racing Alfas, including a TZ, in SCCA. When he opened Stoddard Imported Cars in Willoughby, Ohio, he switched to Porsche 356s. Chuck was a full-on technical expert but also appreciated Porsche history. He was a national officer in the Porsche Club of America and owned a Gmuend Coupe, an America Roadster, and several plastic 1960s Porsche racecars, including a 917. Chuck's business was the first dealership to focus on restoration parts for 356 and early 911 models. Eventually the dealership was sold to Porsche and Chuck retired. American Porsche collectors can thank him for making their lives a little more complete.

John Martin, from a tiny town in the back of beyond, who entered several Indy 500s with the most honestly named car ever - the Unsponsored Special.
Basically, was his own team manager, crew chief, engine builder, set-up merchant, and driver. Yet made the show a number of times. Even nabbed a top ten finish. The Boys of Indy by Bortstein has a chapter on his efforts. Died on 20 November, aged 80

A sobering post...........to see two names that I remember from my time at the races.
Katja Heim was FIA Media Delegate in Group C' s later days. She had been Bernie's PA prior to that. She went on to be a significant marketing figure in F1, especially involved with the circuits at Bahrain and COTA.
Monique Bouleux was the smiling face of the ACO's press operation during the '80s and '90s. She was patient and friendly with complete no-hopers like myself in my early days at Le Mans.............it was a very different scene back then.

HI All,
The austrian driver (ABB - Motorsport) Sandro Bickel's father, Werner Bickel sadly passed away on 12.12.2019. He was born on 13.05.1954:
http://todesanzeigen...-bickel-85594/#
He was also race car driver in '70s and '80s (including Renault R5 cup)
But, keep in mind the race with Fiat Abarth in 1964, he should have been only 10 years old in that time (Maybe we can see on the picture Helmut, his elder brother, I dont know):
http://www.norisring.../1964/64_38.htm
And keep in mind, he should have been only 16 years old when he entered to the Spanish GP in 1970 with BRM P139.
It seems, there are (were) 2 different Werner Bickels. A german and an austrian race car driver.

Some lovely stuff there:
"At the GP of Syracuse - he still said - I was going faster than a second per lap. I was doing a full curve that the Sicilians had renamed the 'Cemetery'. Fangio wanted us to go for a walk on the track and to tell him in every point which gear I put in and where I braked. He was one of the few to be fast both on the circuits and on the road races. A great mechanics connoisseur.

Norm Rapp passed away December 28, 2019. Racing out of his hometown of San Francisco, Rapp raced midgets for 20 years (from 1947-1967), primarily in Northern California with BCRA. He ran Norm Rapp Racing Equipment, a popular supplier to racers, from 1953. Inducted into 6 Halls of Fame, including the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame, he was interviewed for an online publication.
Word arrived yesterday via Facebook on the passing of Don Hamilton, 1973 California Racing Association sprint car champion. Hamilton is listed with 19 career CRA wins. Hamilton, of El Cajon, California, near San Diego, began racing with the San Diego Racing Association modified sportsmen before moving on to the CRA.

Manuel Martins Teixeira died with 86 y/o, I know his son, an experienced co-driver in Portugal, but even more known for his encyclopedic knowledge of everything in motor racing and with such a superb ability to remember everything. That man is a great storyteller and a true computer.
Manuel Teixeira's wife, Maria Alice, had died on 1/3/2018 with 84 y/o. She used to be her husband's co-driver.

Many thanks, Guilherme. Meanwhile the birthdates are on www.ewrc-results.com (which I had not seen).
But, please, reduce the extent of your quote.

Yes, I saw there. I didn't know how to quote solely the Portuguese drivers, sorry.

Thank you to Reinhard for his recent list. I didn't realise Bill Prowse had passed away until I saw the list. I can't say I knew Bill, but he first came to my attention in the late 80's when fellow Mini Club committee member, Mike Darling was playing with Bill's Ferrari spyder (ex 275 GTB). Mike played with Minis, but to pay the bills worked on Italian cars and hence how the Prowse Ferrari came through his door. I recall an engine rebuild and the expense of Cosworth pistons for the car made Mini prices pretty cheap. Mike also navigated for Bill in a couple of Blanden's GP Rally events too.
Belated condolences to Bill's family and friends.

I see Western Australian motor sport identity Rob Janney had died. For many years a mainstay of behind-the-scenes motor sport in Western Australia.
